The challenge

Spring Impact wanted to shift how the social sector thinks about scale. They had identified six mindset shifts that are critical to scaling social impact effectively, but the concept needed to be brought to life in a way that felt real, accessible and inspiring.

Rather than telling people what to think, they wanted to create space for sector leaders to share their own experiences of grappling with, and embracing, these mindset changes.

The main challenges

Spring Impact asked us to create a high-quality video series that would:

  • Feature a different mission-driven leader for each mindset
  • Help viewers identify with the challenges and mindset shifts described
  • Stand alone as individual pieces and work together as a coherent series
  • Be supported by written explainers and blog content
  • Reflect the complexity of social change while remaining clear and accessible
  • Be suitable for dissemination across channels, including social media, newsletters and the Spring Impact website
  • Establish a distinctive visual identity to tie the series together

The process

We began with a scoping workshop to define the audience, tone and storytelling approach. Together, we developed a shared narrative arc for each film – from personal context and organisational mission, to the problem faced, the mindset shift, and the resulting impact.

From there, we created a visual identity for the series, built around the idea of a kaleidoscope – a shifting grid of ideas and visuals coming into focus. We designed the video treatment to be cinematic and speaker-led, supported by animated overlays, typography and subtle illustration to reinforce each message.

To ensure consistency, we produced a test film and a style sample before capturing the main footage. We also provided speaker onboarding, interview guidance and filming logistics for both UK-based and international contributors.

The solution

Scaling Mindsets is an intimate, ambitious video series that lets real voices lead the conversation on scale. Each film centres on a lived experience of change, blending storytelling with bold visual cues to reinforce the core message. The design language is cohesive and adaptable, with a grid system that allows for interwoven content and dynamic reuse.

The first wave of films launched in alignment with the Skoll World Forum, supported by a comms plan designed to maximise reach and spark engagement across channels. As the series grows, it will continue to support Spring Impact’s broader aims – to demystify scale, grow their community, and influence the wider ecosystem to invest in long-term change.
