Accessibility and inclusion
At Ave, accessibility and inclusion aren’t just add-ons, they’re central principles to how we work and have worked for over a decade.
Whether we’re running a client workshop, holding a team meeting, building a website or recruiting new talent, we design every interaction to be welcoming, respectful and accessible to all. How we build inclusion into everything we do:
Inclusive recruitment
We’re committed to creating a fair and inclusive recruitment process. That means:
- Always list clearly the job commitment and salary details
- Clearly written job descriptions with no jargon
- Flexible formats for applications
- Sharing interview questions in advance
- Offering alternative interview formats as needed.
Accessible meetings and workshops
Whether online or in person, we make our sessions as inclusive as possible by:
- Choosing venues with step-free access and accessible facilities
- Using plain language and clear visuals
- Ensuring screen reader-compatible materials and platforms
- Sharing agendas and question sets (where relevant) in advance
- Offering live captions or transcripts when needed
- Building in breaks and avoiding meeting fatigue.
Designing with accessibility in mind
We apply inclusive design principles across all our work:
- WCAG-compliant websites that are usable for all
- Clear, high-contrast visuals and accessible typography
- Content that’s easy to understand and navigate
- Testing with real users and assistive technologies
- Building in the principles of accessible design as set by the RNIB.
Always learning
We know accessibility is an ongoing process — not a tick-box exercise. We actively seek feedback, stay up to date with best practice, and regularly review our own approach so we can keep improving.
