London Football Awards
Brand Identity and Website Design
The Willow Foundation commissioned us to create a new premium logo for the London Football Awards, a key fundraising event for the charity. It was to be vibrant and energetic, and have no colour affiliation to any of the London football clubs involved.
We developed the logo with 13 lines in a pentagon to represent the 13 clubs within the London region, and a shape familiar to football – one of the patches from the iconic leather ball. In order to stand out and have the energy of the game, we picked a neon green – as seen on boots and laces, and familiar from advertising panels and staff clothing in stadiums – and added a light flare to emphasise the glamour and prestige of the evening.
Following on from the branding we were further commissioned to design and build the London Football Awards website. Due to the nature of it being an event website, it needed to have multiple ‘life-cycles’ For example, prior to the event it needed to enable users to cast their votes, buy tickets, and explore the nominees and past winners. However, after the event it needed to then show highlights videos and imagery, as well as start to act as a promotional tool for the following years’ sponsors.
To that end, the WordPress website we built was built using content modules rather than templates in order for us to be able to quickly amend and update the content.
