Avon
#AvonForAnimals Animations
At the end of 2019, Avon approached us to create two short animated videos to announce their new position on animal testing.
Avon requested the animations to be graphic based rather than photographic, and to be lively,
engaging and informative. The videos were largely to be used across social media both internally, and publicly, across the entire globe.
The timings were tight as they wanted to make the announcement quickly. We were provided with a script to work with and immediately got to work establishing a graphic style, based on their brand guidelines. Avon wanted to ensure the key information could be saved and shared as static illustrations/infographics across all of their channels, and so we ensured the graphics were ownable and layered, so when seen on a static post, they were as captivating as in the animated videos.
The videos were translated into Portuguese and Spanish after the initial cut was approved in English, so as to have the highest engagement possible globally. We commissioned the translations and put the different languages in place. We also created the videos with and without subtitles, to aid sharing across platforms. The videos were sized for Instagram, Twitter and the web.
The resulting videos were bright, lively and engaging, successfully celebrating that Avon are the first global beauty company selling in China to end animal testing across all their markets.
