Looping animation featuring brand shapes and colours for the Council of Deans of Health. The animation showcases angular forms in deep blue, teal, and purple transitioning fluidly across a gradient background, reflecting the organisation’s contemporary and confident visual identity.

The Council of Deans of Health represents the UK’s universities engaged in education and research for nursing, midwifery and allied health professions.

Three pull-up banners for the Council of Deans of Health, each featuring the tagline “The voice of UK healthcare educators and researchers” with different bold graphic designs and colour palettes, set against a gradient blue and purple background.

The challenge

The Council of Deans of Health felt their brand didn’t reflect the authority of their work, and their website was holding them back from delivering value to members. We were asked to create a brand and digital presence that captured their gravitas and served as a true knowledge hub

The process

We began with a brand strategy phase, working closely with the Council team to define how the organisation should look, feel and sound. Members wanted a brand that carried gravitas but still felt open and collaborative. From this, we designed a modern, confident identity system, balancing authority with accessibility, to give the Council a consistent, professional presence across all touchpoints.

Alongside the brand work, we mapped how members used the site day-to-day, from accessing resources to joining events. This informed the information architecture, taxonomy design and user journeys, ensuring members could quickly find and interact with the content most relevant to them.

The requirements

  • Develop a visual identity with authority and credibility
  • Build a website that integrates all online functions in one place
  • Create a comprehensive resource library with intelligent search and related content
  • Integrate events listings, webinar archives and news
  • Connect all content types through member group taxonomies for personalised experiences

The solution

We delivered a comprehensive new brand identity, from logo and colour palette to typography and templates, that gives the Council clarity and confidence in its communications. Paired with a custom-built website, the identity is brought to life in a central hub that unites everything the Council does.

The site includes a resource library with interlocking taxonomies, events listings, webinar archives and connected content across blogs, news and meetings. Every element is tied together through member group filters, enabling tailored access for each user. The result is a professional, authoritative brand and a powerful digital platform that positions the Council as the trusted voice for health education.
